Whether I’m hitting the trails or the pavement, I always wear eye protection. Not just to protect my eyes from sun damage but also to keep bugs out of them.
I look for sunglasses that are lightweight, have adequate sun protection, and most of all, fit comfortably. I hate sunglasses that squeeze my head, leaving me with a running headache. I’ve found the perfect pair of running glasses with Bolle® Flyair. First of all, I wasn’t chosen by the brand to review their sunglasses. Rather, I was able to request an appointment during the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market to meet with them and I jumped at the opportunity. My past experience with Bolle® sunglasses made me happy to spend time learning more about the brand.
I’ve owned this black pair of Bolle® sunglasses for about fifteen years and have loved them. In fact, I spent a half day on a Mexican vacation looking for them after I misplaced them. I refused to give up until they on my face again. I didn’t get the old ones free but because I’ve loved them for so long, I wanted to visit the Bolle® booth to see what was new and to find a replacement model. It’s about time, right? And honestly, when you find a brand you love, why not stick with them?
I got a chance to meet with Jim at Bolle® and told him I’m always on the lookout for more women’s specific products to share with my blog readers. I explained that I’m a cyclist and an avid trail runner. I wanted to find a pair of sunglasses that I could use specifically for running. Lucky for me, I received a pair of the Bolle® Flyair Matte Tortoise Sunglasses to try.
I immediately fell in love with the fit of the FLYAIR model. They are lightweight and I hardly notice them on my face or ears when I’m running. I’ve never once had them fall lower on my nose or bounce on my face. I have no head squeeze, thus no running headaches. I’m clumsy and I’m always dropping things and sadly, I’ve dropped these glasses more than once. The worst was the time they landed on the face of the lenses. I thought for sure they were broken or at least scratched. Much to my surprise, neither happened. The polycarbonate lenses really are impact resistant. I’m sure if I tried hard enough, I could break them but then I might cry. I might cry because I love them more than I love my old black sunglasses and I hope they last fifteen years too.
Reasons why Bolle® Flyair are the perfect sunglasses:
- Polycarbonate lenses make them stronger and impact resistant
- Most comfortable sunglasses I’ve ever owned
- Filters harmful sun rays
- Nose piece can be adjusted
- Nose piece made from Thermogrip® which absorbs moisture
- Stays in place while running
I couldn’t find one thing about the Bolle® Flyair that I thought could be improved upon which again is why I think they are the perfect running glasses.
