After discovering suffered from lactose intolerance, I’m always on the lookout for milk substitutes that taste good. I thought I had gone to heaven when almond milk first appeared on my local grocers shelves. Now, with so many different brands, I’m always on the lookout for a brand that doesn’t use a lot of extra ingredients. I’m thankful that I can find organic brands.
New Barn Organic Unsweetened Almondmilk eases some of the worries that I’m getting ingredients I don’t want or need. With a clean, simple ingredients, I’m getting three times the almond content of other brands without added sweeteners. The natural taste of New Barn Unsweetened Almondmilk makes a good companion in my morning granola. I also love using it in recipes that call for milk.
I usually use almond milk with food and rarely drink it as I prefer water. However, the New Barn Almondmilk tastes great on its own. It tastes a lot more like almonds than some of the other brands I’ve tried and it’s creamy too. No more missing milk and cookies. My favorite way to drink it is adding it to my herbal chai tea for an almond chai latte.
Besides being dairy free, New Barn Unsweetened Almondmilk is also free from soy, gluten and GMO’s. Not only do I feel good about ingesting this brand, but it’s one I can share with my adult daughter who is even more sensitive to food additives than I am.
While New Barn Unsweetened Almondmilk is a little more expensive than my current brand, I like the taste and creamy consistency better. I will definitely look for it again.
