Hi! My name’s Kalina. I am the other Outdoor Adventure Gal. I LOVE adventures. From exploring my own backyard to traveling the US to going out of the country, I am always up for a new challenge.
One of my most recent adventures took place just outside of Vail, Colorado. I did all the typical snow activities including hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and snow-caving. But one of the coolest adventures I went on while I was there was dog sledding! The group I was with surprised us with a tour through mountainmusher.com
- Make sure to call ahead for a reservation. Especially around Christmas time they book up very quickly
- Dress warm!! Wear warm, comfortable snow boots and a good pair of warm gloves. your extremities are the first thing to get cold, especially since you aren’t moving around
- This is a great activity for all skill levels and ages! Winter activities are often hard to find where every member of a group can participate, but the dog sledding is great for everyone.
- Bring a camera. It’s a once in a lifetime experience (unless you live in Alaska) and you are going to want to capture not only the dogs but the beautiful mountainside.
